I am angry and I could easily shout SHAME! Shame on Gonzi, Shame on Maroni, Shame on Muscat, Shame on Malta, Shame on Italy and Shame on two catholic countries for putting pride, politics and reputation before life.
But no, I am the one who is ashamed. I am ashamed of the country I was born in and the country I have lived for most of my life. I am ashamed of the country which has given me so much and yet drives me mad. I am also ashamed of a country which I have a deep affection for, a neighbour which has also given me so much. As the prince and cardinal His Excellency Tonio Borg put it ‘This was a dispute between friends’. Hypocrite, charlatan, bastard friends that is!
Thankfully both governments and both countries boast of being guided by a deep-rooted catholic faith. If not, who knows what would have been of the people stranded at sea?
Migration is no new phenomenon. Whoever states so is a liar and a hypocrite. Migration is the reason why the whole world is inhabited by almost 7 billion persons. People have been moving back and forth and populating all corners of the world for thousands of years. Now suddenly we are putting up borders not only in our heads but also on land and at sea, which after all does not belong to anyone in particular but only to nature. Politics should be used to solve problems, to help people, to make life more bearable, to make this world a better place but instead we are using politics to put up borders, create deeper divisions, to propagate injustice and inequality, to kill and let die!
A special mention goes to Joseph and the Technicolor Goatee for having made a fool of himself and his party. This is a man who launched his leadership by declaring his love for us all. This is a man who thinks that the word progressive is the magic word which will take him all the way to the throne. Yet he stated ‘even if Malta had been technically incorrect, its decision was morally and politically the right one to take’ Next time elections are around GonziPL and MuscatPN will become interchangeable. They both speak the same shit and they will both deliver the same shit. This country does not only drive me mad….it is driving me out.
The following is the transcript of the conversation Tonio Borg and Franco Fratini had on Skype early Sunday morning before mass….
TB: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?
